Dr. Sherkat

Dr. Sherkat grew up in Canada and has spent most of her life in the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Sherkat completed her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Washington and her dental degree at Oregon Health Sciences University. Upon completing a General Practice Residency at Portland’s Veterans Hospital, she returned to Bellevue, Washington to practice dentistry.

“I strive to do my very best for every patient. I believe when you listen to your patients first and then provide them with the opportunity to learn about different treatment options, they will make the best decision for their care. I have the privilege of treating generations of families in my practice. The close relationships that grow from this feed my passion for dentistry."

Dr. Sherkat practices ‘evidence based dentistry’ and believes in staying current with the latest scientific research. She has accomplished this by actively participating in advanced continuing education.

Dr. Kim

Dr. Jihyon Kim grew up in the Chicago area. She moved to Washington state after earning her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago. She did molecular research at the University of Washington before ultimately deciding to follow in her father’s footsteps and pursue a career in dentistry. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1999 and then remained as an affiliate instructor for two years. She joined Dr. Sherkat in 2005.

"I consider it a privilege to work with patients and to help them with their health needs. I enjoy educating patients and working together as active participants in choosing their best treatment options. My goal is to treat each patient with respect and compassion and to honor their trust and confidence by remaining current and knowledgeable in my field."

Dr. Kim is committed to continuing education that expands her knowledge and skill in comprehensive dentistry. She believes in the importance of understanding the scientific evidence that supports varied dental treatments in order to guide patients toward an optimal and predictable therapeutic result.
