Bioclear®

What is Bioclear®? Bioclear® is an innovative method utilizing injection-molded composite resins to completely wrap and protect a tooth. The result is a tooth-colored restoration with esthetics and longevity similar to porcelain but with reduced or no loss of tooth structure as compared to porcelain.  What treatments are possible? Bioclear® can be a beautiful and conservative option to treat many esthetic dilemmas traditionally treated with porcelain veneers or crowns, such as:

  • Diastema or tooth gaps
  • Open gingival embrasures or black triangles
  • Undersized teeth or peg laterals
  • Worn and chipped and broken teeth

Why Bioclear®? Porcelain crowns or veneers require the removal of tooth structure to make the restoration fit over the tooth. With injection-molding, the composite is made to adapt around the tooth. This means that healthy tooth structure can be preserved, while only diseased or damaged tooth structure is removed.

Crowns

Porcelain crown covers the whole outer surface of the tooth and can be used to restore front teeth that are structurally compromised due to decay or large failing fillings.  The crown is  made to create the desired shade and shape of your new smile while blending seamlessly with your natural teeth.

The tooth must be reduced in size to accommodate a crown.  An impression is made of the prepared tooth and sent to the lab to fabricate the crown.  This process takes about 2 weeks, during which time a temporary crown is placed over the tooth.

Veneers

You no longer need to hide your smile because of gaps, chips, stains, or misshapen teeth. With veneers, you can easily correct your teeth’s imperfections to help you have a more confident, beautiful smile. Veneers are natural in appearance, and they are a perfect option for patients wanting to make minor adjustments to the look and feel of their smile.

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells made from tooth-colored materials (such as porcelain), and they are designed to cover the front side of your teeth. To prepare for veneers, your doctor will slightly reduce the outer surface of the tooth and take an impression of the prepared teeth which will be sent to the lab for the fabrication of the porcelain veneers. The veneers are subsequently cemented on permanently.

When your veneers are placed, you’ll be pleased to see that they look like your natural teeth. While veneers are stain-resistant, your doctor may recommend that you avoid coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco to maintain the beauty of your new smile.
